15 MayFabulous to see the first fully signed ad break last night!

A few words from our Chair, Craig Crowley

“UKCoD and all of our member organisations are grateful to Aldi for showcasing British Sign Language in an everyday, fun situation. It is a fabulous advert and we are excited that so many people were able to see it.

It is fitting to include Maisie Sly, our little star from the Oscar-winning short film, ‘The Silent Child’, sitting and chatting alongside her mother, Elizabeth.

This kind of awareness raising advert enables viewers to understand more about the experiences of people who are different from them.

This is important to us because accessibility, equality and inclusion are the cornerstones of our work with Deaf, Hard of Hearing, deafened and Deafblind people throughout the UK.”
