The Elizabeth Foundation was established in 1981 for pre-school deaf children and their families.

It provides Baby Testing Unit, A Baby and Pre-School Programme for deaf children 0-5 years with qualified Teachers of the Deaf, Family Support and Education and Correspondence Course for parents unable to attend the Family Centre.

At the Elizabeth Foundation we are committed to the "Multi Sensory Oral Approach". This is simply encouraging the development of speech, language and listening skills by using all of the child's senses in a natural fun, child centred environment. This method teaches listening and spoken language ie the child learns to notice sounds and attach meaning to those sounds, enables communication with the hearing world, supports literacy and provides the widest range of options for friends, schools and careers.
