The Suffolk Deaf Association (SDA) serves the deaf people of Suffolk. They may be profoundly deaf, hard of hearing, deafened, deaf blind, or suffering from tinnitus. The Ipswich, Lowestoft and Bury St Edmunds Branches each have an information centre for deaf adults and family and also arrange and host British Sign Language (BSL) classes, lip-reading classes and Hand-in-Hand clubs for people with the dual sensory loss of deaf blindness in each of the three branches.

It works to spread knowledge and awareness of deaf issues to society as a whole and inclusion of deaf people in all social, educational and training activities, providing communication support, regular church services and a Suffolk Hearing Support service.
