Royal Association for Deaf People

to enable deaf people who have a learning disability to learn about the DoH White Paper "Valuing People", to see how it affects their lives

to develop a performance review procedure that can be used for volunteer Information Officers

Cambridgeshire Deaf Association

to provide Drop-In services in the Fenlands and Peterborough Area and Changing Views Advocacy Services for deaf people with extra disabilities

Leicestershire Centre for Deaf People

to enable the effective co-ordination of volunteers to help people from Peer Group Networks to improve their skills, gain confidence and autonomy, improve access to community activities and facilities and mitigate the effects of isolation on vulnerable elderly deaf people

dDeaflinks Staffordshire

to recruit, train and organise a group of deaf and hard of hearing volunteers to visit isolated, lonely, socially excluded deaf and hard of hearing people in their own homes or whilst an in-patient in hospital

SIGN

to enable Deaf people with mental health problems to volunteer at a local farm to look after the animals

Hampshire Deaf Association

to provide befriending, mentoring and support to vulnerable and ill people of all ages with a hearing loss to reduce inequalities in health and social services

A 3-week project over the summer school holidays giving young people accessible information about health education and independent living skills

Nottinghamshire Deaf Society £1,400
Deaf playscheme for deaf children and hearing children with deaf parents to encourage their independence and also integration.

Deaf Direct £5,000
Volunteers will be recruited to improve the quality and scope of services offered by Deaf Direct to families and children.

SIGN £5,000
Volunteers will work 13 to 25 year old deaf people and their families in Haringey to ensure that service provision is appropriate for young people's well being.

Merseyside Deaf Association £5,000
Recruitment, training and support of Deaf volunteers in Youth Work projects. The ultimate aim being for Deaf people to gain Level 2 qualifications in Youth work.

Hampshire Deaf Association £5,000
Under their Deaf.f project, deaf youths and hearing youths of deaf parents aged 13 to 25 will benefit from activities that allow them to integrate with their peers and thus improve their healthy wellbeing.

Anne Lloyd Memorial Trust £5,000
Young deaf and deafblind people will be supported on breaks geared towards their specific needs and supported by young volunteers.

Sense £4,212
Two weekend events supported by volunteers for young people with congenial or acquired deafblindness.

Suffolk Deaf Association £4,772
Youth activities for deaf people in a residential setting with volunteers giving Peer Support.

The Ear Foundation £4,000
Teens United - supporting deaf teenagers with learning how to manage the technology of cochlear implants independently and effectively and to facilitate peer-group support in dealing with their new challenges.

DELTA £4,000
Activity weekend encouraging young volunteers to develop their skills and confidence.
