Childhood Deafness To Top The Agenda At Major European Conference

A major European conference to promote a collaborative approach for Europe’s professionals working with deaf children and their families will take place on May 13th – 14th at the Royal Institute of British Architects in London.

Parents and professionals from throughout Europe will converge on London for ‘Deaf and Hearing Impaired Children Europe’ (DHICE) to raise the profile of childhood deafness on the EU’s political agenda. The first event of its kind, this conference will bring together all those concerned with providing services for Europe’s deaf children to discuss the common issues of multi-professional teamwork and support. It is being organised by The Ear Foundation, The National Deaf Children’s Society and RNID.

DHICE comes at a key time in the development of services for deaf and hearing-impaired children. The new-born hearing screening programme and the advancement of new diagnostic technologies and communication developments are transforming hearing services for children. These advances create new challenges for all the professional disciplines involved in the support and education of deaf and hearing-impaired children, to provide equitable, high quality services across Europe.
For full details and booking form, please go to www.dhice.org
