Opportunities for Volunteering Grants

The deadline for applications for the 2003/2004 funding period was 5th December 2002. By the deadline 21 applications had been received. The Opportunities for Volunteering Sub-Committee met on 14th January to assess the applications. The total funding requested was over £330,000. We had been advised by the Department of Health to expect the same level of funding as in previous years - £119,200. Because of the high quality of the applications we lobbied DoH for an increase in funding and we are delighted to announce that we have now been allocated £145,629. The projects that have been awarded funding are:

Jane Beech Memorial Fund, £3,000 to fund three workshops providing information to promote and safeguard health and prevent disease and illness.
